About this calibration

  • Method

    Checked against gauge blocks or another reference length at several points across the range, including the condition of the measuring faces (jaws and anvils). Dial indicators are checked on a reference measuring stand, and gauge blocks are compared with reference gauge blocks. Your quotation states the test points.

  • How often

    Commonly every 12 months, or sooner for tools used daily on the line and after a drop. Your quality system (for example ISO 9001 or IATF 16949) or your customer sets the interval.

  • Your certificate

    Records the error at each test point and the measurement uncertainty, so you can check the result against the tool's tolerance or your own acceptance limit.
